Tara Brown's grandmother was taken from her people at the age of nine and brought to an Indian boarding school in Oregon. She had no contact with her family or culture until she returned to Alaska, where she became a public school teacher. "Honoring and being honest about our history is how we can claim the brightness of our future," Tara says.
