How to Train for Marathon

The longest run is probably going to be around 20 to 21 miles. You probably start building those long runs around 16 weeks before the event, in which case that would be signed by a 20 mile mark. The build phase is where you start to introduce high intensity workouts and a peak phase with probably more race-like intensities. For somebody running 250 or faster, let's say, 250 to 230, 30, 40, 38.
