How to Deal With Fear and Panic

I was fearful and scared, deeply scared both consciously and subconsciously. Scared that I had lost everything, scared that I wouldn't be able to survive or find happiness again. This enabled me to better understand why I was taking the rejection so badly. Our primal brain can't distinguish the rejection from my ex-boyfriend to the rejection of being abandoned as a caveman. The only way to combat this fear was to focus on the present moment rather than what lies ahead. For me, watching things that had no relation to romantic relationships at all were really helpful - even if for half an hour.
