I love that just because the part asks for something doesn't mean that that we have to agree to do that. I also like to invite the part to consider if it wants a like a hotline to reach me a red phone kind of thing. If you want to communicate with me and I'm not already paying attention, is there some way you want to grab my attention? It could be a physiological sign like a chill or giving me an image in my head so I know what that is. And if the part decides it does want that then we know in regular life. Okay, when that happens Oh, that's my part and I'm going to turn towards it.
