The point of meditation is to gain the ability to be more aware of what's happening in everyday life. Most people don't have that in daily life because they've also never seen it around them. And so they need that specific practice. When I first started meditating, I didn't know what the desirable state was like. It's only through continuous exposure and to learn hearing others speak about what maybe it could feel like mostly in metaphors that I kind of developed this idea: "This is what it feels like"
