In 1853, a chemist named Charles Friedrich Gerhard synthesized acetyl salicylic acid for the first time. That is like that is what aspirin is today. It's thesalicylic acid, but it has an acetyl group bound to it. So yeah, I guess there are like two petro chemicals kind of involved in manufacturing aspirin. But yeah, so that's about it.
