In a negotiation, by definition, you really have to think about what the other side wants. You might not think you care about their needs, that's a really important thing in negotiation. Even if you're just totally self-interested, even if you're your homo-economist, the way to meet your interest in another is to care about the other person's interest. So it takes training.
In this episode, we sit down with negotiation expert Misha Glouberman who explains how to talk to people about things -- that is, how to avoid the pitfalls associated with debate when two or more people attempt to come to an agreement that will be mutually beneficial.
