Is Warming Up a Waste of Time?

The point of a workout is to get you from where you are to that state you need to be in to accomplish the objective of the workout, physically, mentally and emotional. I don't want to put you through 20 minutes of warming up if you're ready to go in five minutes. So it's always a checking of, where do i need to be? Where am i now? And then warming up appropriately to match that point. Now, this topic has been discussed, as will on the warmups, bang, a waste of time. What do you think about that?
