Paying People to Quit Smoking During Pregnancy

Smoking during pregnancy has been associated with behavior issues and attention deficit in children whose mothers smoked while they were pregnant. Paying people to take calls from our quit line, that was the driving factor that helped people quit. Less than 15 % of the incentive group in megan's study of pregnant women managed to stay smoke free after six months. i talked about how economists value those changes in health, and, more generally, what a year of life is worth. Policy makers use these estimates to weigh the costs and benefits of laws and regulations that affect our health.
