Why muscles aren't torn down and built back bigger
The Chris and Paul Show
The Differences Between Eccentric and Concentric Training Programs
People were seeing that eccentric training programs caused more hypertrophy than concentric training programs. They also noticed the eccentric training programs cause more of post-workout fatigue, which is indicative of muscle damage. And therefore they said, hey, maybe it's the fact that we're getting more of this kind of muscle damage that's then stimulating great hypertrophy in this particular case. But simultaneously you've got another group of people who are looking at the eccentric training Programs and seeing that the difference isn't that great in terms of hypertrophy. The level of force being produced during these eccentric contractions is way, way higher than what we can get during a concentric contraction. So basically
