Ted Cruz is currently running to defend his seat from the Democratic challenger, Beto O'Rourke. On the campaign trail, Ted claimed that his lifelong desire to fight for liberty had been born out of hearing his dad's stories of his time as a revolutionary. But extensive research by the New York Times suggests that these stories of Raphael Cruz are largely fabricated.
