I Got TV Work Because I Was Doing All Right
I was very self-indulgent when I comedy. I would do jokes that only worked if you grew up in the 80s. My stuff just happened to work with the people who were hearing it. For example, this is how easy it is. Every stage I go up on in a cellar, in a London pub, built in 1400. My head will be touching the roof almost every time because I'm physically too big for a cellar anyway. So I just make a stupid joke about, you know, I don't fit. People laugh because it's funny. And immediately they laugh at the end and then you're awake. It's like test driving the car you really want
