Gratitude Is a Good Thing for Older People
In addition to the need for food and sleep, human beings have a need for novelty. I think it comes from our primate genes. That's how primates survive. So finding gratitude and making it a regular practice is something that can shift the balance in favor of optimism rather than pessimism. And simply reminding yourself that you have a part of your constitution that is curious for new things, and start looking for new things will rejuvenate that quality.
