Being in the present is usually sitting with the emotion. So it's not being in the present and avoiding emotion or not, those are mutually exclusive. In fact, moving into the future and moving into the past are the ways that you avoid the present. If we think about something big, what does your mind do? Its eaks in, oh my god, that's too hard. Oh my god, it's not going to work. And so don't bother. TheSecond dimension of time enters when what happens on a day-to-day basis isn't enough for us. We have to change how we look at our daily lives as if they were some kind of cosmic joke.
