When I hear metabolic syndrome, I think insulin resistance. That means that the patients who have insulin resistance are at increased risk of cardiovascular complications and malignancy. And so keeping that in mind when you're thinking about how do you manage a patient is not captured by all of these fancy tools we have to evaluate somebody's glucose.
