The first part of positioning is defining what you're up against. What's your target audience doing to day? I would say seven to eight times out of ten, i get a list of competitors who are trying to solve a similar problem for a similar audience. All these start ups are really early, and nobody has great markes her et hand. They're all trying to make things better or approach a similar problem a slightly different way. And it's really easy to make that the bad guy, as opposed to another start up whom nobody even knows about yet.
