Are You Getting Strong and Getting Fit So That You Could Protect Yourself?
Fitness is a hedge against burnout, and I think it can help us deal with the struggles that are implicit in organizing at any level. Getting strong and getting fit so that we could defend ourselves and our comrades is something that we should not discount. And especially coming from a women's organization, self-defense is important. We're all only as good as the slowest person in our team. Nobody gets ahead. No individual shines. But these are things that we've also implemented in our local organizing at various times in the last several years to promote left wing proletarian culture.
