Engaging Questions as a Way to Change Triggers

Goldsmith recommends that we change our triggers is by having these ways of checking in with ourselves on a frequent regular basis, usually with some method of accountability from another individual. So for example, I'm going to give some like a short list of questions that are given in the book is engaging questions. And they all start with, did you try your best to? He makes the point that we totally treat effort as what he calls like a second class citizen. It's not actually the absolute record of of success or failure. That what matters is you are keeping it in your mind as this is a thing that you are trying to do.
