The Effects of Stress on the Body

Sally Kohn: I want to talk about burnout and some of the other principles in your book very heavily. One thing that I thought would be good to touch base on ahead of that is really understanding the effects of stress. There's kind of two kinds of stress, she says; acute and chronic. We get meaning from stressful events such as weddings or family gatherings,. These are our learning experiences. But chronic stress is the stuff we face repeatedly. Instead of the traffic jam one time on our way to the airport, it's the repeated traffic jam we encounter every day.
