I like to say to people, try yes if, rather than know unless. Ask them where are they least flexible? That will tell you what it is they can't do and all the other things that you can ask for. It's hugely different from threatening to leave tonetotally something. If you want them to go over their head, make a special exemption for you. They want to know that they're oing to be successful. You need a lot of honesty, not just from yourself, but from the other side.
