Socrates says piety is the science of praying and sacrificing. He says it's a science of asking and giving to the gods. And we are asking things from them like, what are we giving them that they really want? Some like burnt fat and sweet, sweet smelling meat,. And we get from them all kinds of stuff. Like wow, we give them. Gods don't really need them.
