The Limitations of Rogue
When we first made Rogue it wasn't something that I ever considered would be something commercial. When we made the Mac version there was no question you know that we were going to use tiles not ask you characters. So when I did the Atari ST version I did have a mode where it was still used letters. But yeah it's your mind very quickly just gets used to that this is the representation. Your imagination fills in the entire scene that you're reading about and the creatures that you're dealing with. You know, so T's are not intrinsically scary or letters than bees. I think you pre otherwise.
