How to Make Interesting Etymologies
Tup means train or tame an animal and pul means flame or fire. This of course also contributed to a reduction in prestige even as animal taming became less popular itself. So with that story, the word I came up with is tup-pul. You only need as much detail as you feel is necessary to make the history real.
