Jurgen: I've never had BDRs report into me or any type of sales function reporting to my team. So what I've learned is that it's really created a lot more just alignments. Chris: If you did move BDRs to marketing, it would allow the marketing leader to rebalance budgets across demand capture and demand creation more effectively. The real discussion needs to be what should a business development function do today? Jurgen: It can work for a lot of companies if the bright marketing leaders are in place.
