"I was lucky to have stumbled into this funny little medieval joke of a brewery where I could put these ideas, which were pretty obvious into practice," he says. "The luck was in the broadest sense of just happening to be here at a time when the beer world was bound to explode." He adds that San Francisco has still a reputation of food, wine and other curiosities.
