The Role of Prophylactic Anticoagulation in Patients With P&H
Is it fair to say that there's no role of prophylactic anticoagulation for patients with P&H? You know, a blanket statement like no role probably not, but very little to no role. So you got to ask yourself, is the patient symptomatic? First of all. How do you make a decision about treatment of a classical P&H patient who is having hemolysis with severe anemia and symptoms secondary to that? And I know right now we have three FDA approved medications for that; how do you decide which medication and how do these medications differ?
