Ultra Runners and Muscular Damage
Ultra runners and mountain runners will be familiar with this sensation of having dead legs towards the end of a race. We see this amount of muscle damage pop up in the physiology of runners when we poke and prod them after races or sometimes during races. This is related to the repetition of micro centric contraction. Even so, it's probably true that in downhill, you have more muscle damage, but in neutral, you are running, of course, super slowly.
