Many salespeople aren't doing any kind of techniques. They don't really know what they're doing, and that's a big problem. The perfect close aligns the commitment process with the sales professional's personal values. Most people are quite expert at determining what another person's intentions are. And so if we don't go into our sales encounter with the right mindset where we're actually trying to be of service, then we inadvertently send the wrong message to the customer.
