In sleepwalking you see wake-like activity in the motor cortex that controls your skeletal muscles. When somebody wakes up they have zero recollection of just been walking around the house or god forbid going outside and driving a car or driving a motorbike as has been recorded. Stephen Loughley: The whole notion of scoring sleep into these different stages and saying you had 20% deep sleep last night comes into question because it's clearly the case that that might be true of one part of the brain but not necessarily true of another parts of the brain.
