The Importance of Morality in the Writings of Al-Kindi
Ibn Adi's treatise is remarkably flexible towards morality. He allows that what is virtuous for one person might be evil if found in another. For most people, ibn Adi would recommend a life of moderation. But unlike Al-Razi, he thinks that radical asceticism could be the right lifestyle for a select few.
