The way to stay grounded in all these different techniques and reflections on the experiential level rather than the thought or conceptual level is precisely to develop a very strong mindfulness of all the processes involved in eating. A lot is revealed about our own minds and bodies when we learn to eat with awareness, to eat mindfully. We become very mindful of that whole process of desire and our subsequent action upon it. As we are observing the processes involved there can begin to be a very deep and penetrating insight into the fact that it is all impersonal phenomena happening.
