The Importance of Probabilism in Talent Identification
I was really honored to be on a paper with a group coming out of sort of a gato in Rome where we've just written about talent ID. The suggestion is that we move away from this idea of determinism where you can predict somebody's eventual potential based on you know where they've come from. We're encouraging us to move towards probableism which is if we give people the best environments possible to then explore and achieve whatever their best could be. If our talent ID systems actually reflected who we are as human beings or more accurately as Karl Woods and Keith David's write about it is as human becoming if we're constantly becoming something else how do we get there?
