The Language of Depression Has Been Taken Away
There isn't this like clear entity that exists in nature called depression. So the boundaries that academics and clinicians put around it are artificial, they've been created for pragmatic reasons. This term has lost some of its value because if everyone uses it, then it sort of packs less of a punch to say you're really unwell. Sue: The whole point of these campaigns was to try and get help and validation and recognition for those people who are reallyUnwell. And I think it's being lost a little bit. Lucy: Does it make it easier, though, in some other ways for the people who really are unwell?
