Schiller's View of the Chorus

Tradition speaks against schlegel, the chorus as such wthout the stage. What kind of artistic jana could possibly be extracted from the concept of the spectator and find its true form in the spectator as such? The spectator without the spectacle is an absurd notion. And so this is a apollinian magic circle, a boundary drawn around tragedy.
