Cross Training for Triathlon - Is Running a Good Thing?

The torque test can be used to make sure that your low intensity remains low intensity even at an underlying physiological level. I would not recommend changing things just keep it as is as long as you're improving. Hiking is excellent cross training for triathlon and crossing over not just to running but to cycling as well with that muscular component and strength component to it so especially in the early base training part of the year long hikes rather than long runs can be a really smart thing to add to a schedule a training schedule that is.
