Is There an Overused Game Design Elements?

The Eurus is an order fulfillment game, but it doesn't feel lazy. Bot factory for me felt like order fulfillment the game in the sort of most trivial banal way. I really want to go with just lazy design. If it was overused but always done well, that would be a different story entirely because it's striking. It's very appropriate, I didn't even know that this would coincide.
