Building Fitness Takes Time
Building fitness still does take time, especially the sort of fitness that you will need to complete such a long day as Leadville. And if it was only so neat as to say that every one week of work equaled three Watts increase in your FTP, that would be wonderful. But it's simply not. If you are laying a good foundation with base training, that's going to take you probably somewhere around 10 weeks at the least.
