Rockets have been going on since the fifties and sixties, sending satellites up. E what's what's changed now? You know, we've been collecting data about the earth for decades. The one thing that never changes is the physics. But in terms of why now, i mean, just mention the climate crisis as a huge motivator - personally it's an exciting field to be spending my time on.
