The Longitudinal Study

In the 1930s, 724 participants were followed throughout their entire life. The study was interested in firsthand accounts and trying to understand the inside of people's heads. Over the years, there were regular interviews, room for the participants to ask questions. Modern methods like brain scans have been used over the last 20 years or so.
