Is it better to be flexible or strict in our eating and exercise routines if we want to be healthier? Well, I, the first answer is that it depends. The second answer is that for most people based on human nature and the science being flexible when our plans bump up against unexpected challenges is most likely to lead to sustainability. When it comes to complex, multi stage behaviors like healthy eating and exercise for most people, the assumptions just can't be meet.
