The greatest threat to monarchy is not the mob, it is just a relevance and essentially people not caring. Monarchy never works like that, it moves slowly incrementally and that is the Queen's great strength. We can elect people to be head of state but we are assuming what people do hate about monarchies. I mean there is a lot of substance behind this idea which has been thrown around by some as an excuse for why Britain should end up with a one-party rule system.
