Sound has been used at advertising for many, many years in a very profitable way. I think the first sound was wheatys, way back in about 19 26. And it massively revolutionized the sales of whitties. So sounds like those can be enormously damaging. The number of corporate receptions i've walked into where they've got a tv screen on the wall with news on. Those kind of sounds are very mindless and unthinking. There's a huge amount of mindlessness about sound. We design for the eyes, largely. It's not that often that companies think about designing with the ears.
