Physio Edge podcast with David Pope

CHAPTER

The Role of Robustness in the Rotator Cuff

There's a whole load within that first little bit that I want to cover. We've always described it as putting the humour head in this nice big part of the glenoid where it snugs and is maximally stable. The key aspect there again if we look at athletes with symptoms and athletes without symptoms one of the key themes seems to be that that humour head remains relatively centred throughout dynamic movement. So already we have two things this initial switch on and then how it works through range. If you don't get the stability function of the rotator cuff working it's a bit like standing on ice in slippy shoes.
