Aspartame: The Surprisingly Interesting Science and History
The Stronger By Science Podcast
The Limits of Evidence for Aspartame
There's not really good evidence for those direct mechanisms of carcinogenicity. The more times your cells have to replicate, the more like you there is a risk that there might be small little transcription errors in the DNA. However, high doses of aspartame have been noted to increase inflammatory biomarkers which is generally going to cause increases in cell turnover. But yeah, so that's what they've got as far as mechanisms go. So it's again, they termed it as limited evidence, because there's not much of it. You now know what a 2B classification means. And you now know the evidence on aspartame supporting that 2B classification.
