I was the only one really close with my dad near the end of his life. I had this literal visceral feeling in my chest that, and I started to get vocal about it. And by the time you put my brother's head down, my brother had passed away. My mother's connection to her children is like nothing I've ever seen. It scares me that the connection I had because I obviously never want to have that feeling again.
Death is an ever-present part of life, and it comes for us all. In some way, we will experience grief and loss -- it may come from the loss of a parent, child, sibling, friend, etc. Today, I am joined by Addison Brasil. Addison is the author of First Year of Grief Club: A Gift From A Friend Who Gets It, and the former producer and co-founder of the world's first peer men's mental health app, tethr.
In this episode, Addison shares his journey to process through grief after he lost his brother to cancer, found his father after he committed suicide, and survived a fatal accident that killed a dear friend and left Addison relearning how to walk. He also talks about how to honor grief, how to feel connected and supported during loss, and much more. Tune in!
