The Difference Between VO2 and SMO2
SMO2 is a dynamic balance between oxygen and supply and demand. So if you see SMO2 going down, that means more oxygen is being utilized than is being consumed. You could have this scenario where it is completely flatlined because oxygen supplied to the tissue is matching demand. And then you owe to which is a measure of oxygen consumption. It's how much is actually being consumed. I think if we wanted to think about blood flow, I'd say the personal nitric oxide or piano measurements would be more like blood flow.
