The History of Instagram as an App
There is an alternative history where Instagram became Facebook mobile photo as an app, right? Right. No, it could have happened. In fact, one of the first things I did is Facebook had maybe six or 12 months before bought an app that was a data compression app. So users all over the world were downloading this app on their phone and it was lowering their phone bill effectively. And in exchange, it was giving information about what users were doing on their mobile phones.
