How to Recreate Memories
The hippocampus has what are known as play cells. Play cells will fire when you're in a given environment that a particular neuron will fire for something. The person who discovered this, John O'Keefe, he got the Nobel Prize along with Maybritt and I forgot what her ex-husband's name is. But they retain the same last names because that's what they're published on. And it's literally mapping out space right before your eyes. It'll create a map of that environment which can then be used to recall memories.
