How to Heel Hook in Competition Climbing

When I first started climbing heel hooking wasn't really a thing. And it's not that people didn't, it's just that when you learn a new mechanic like heel hooking, you're like, okay, I can heel hook on this. It's like a giant jug. My heel just slots in there. Like, of course, I'll do that. But it's when people start improving on these new techniques and integrating them more and more and more then they're like, wow, now you can heel hook  on tiny little pebbles on ledges.
