I see a lot of runners as students who've had pretty serious injuries, knee injuries and the like from running. So clearly that's not something you want to get if you're a runner. If you get injured, you don't improve. It's that simple. Sometimes it pays the trade a little bit less hard and keep training. And in fact, in my 50s, I was able to sort of run 100 kilometers a week, which I was never able to do in my 20s or 30s. Or in my 40s at least.
